Permission Forms
Permission Forms
We knew from the beginning we wanted to film in an environment which looks forsake and where people wouldn't stay for a long time. So we than finde the perfect location in our girls boarding house. We than had to ask our housemistress if we could use this environment, which is an area where you can finde changing rooms and toilets, to be the main location for our horror thriller.
This form gives us permission to film in this area:
Also we decided since the beginning to have two main actors in our first two minutes. One of the two girls has a bigger role to play than the other one but she really likes acting and she matches perfectly to the girl we hand in our mind.
We asked both of them if they would like to play in our movie and both said "yes" immediately which also made it easier for us because we now hand motivated actors which were ready to give their best.

Our music
Our music
We looked for some music videos and we found the perfect
soundtrack from The woman in black. But than we were told we could't use it and
we will also get more marks if we do our own music so we had to go on Garage Band
to do it on our own. We didn't really know how it works so we first just looked at the
different options and played a bit around to know how this programs works. We suddenly than found a good sound which is creepy and we though we will have to have that in our thriller. We than took this bit of the music and put it on to the track. Than we decided we would need also an other sound mixed with it because it would be boring otherwise. Looking for the second music track was much harder because we had so finde something which matches perfectly. After some searching we than found it and put it as well on the track with the other one.
When we listen to it it sounded really good together and we just had to do some few changes with the volume which didn't take us a lot of time. The last thing we had to od is to bring it up to two minutes wich also wasn't the hardest thing to do.

First ideas-First storyboard
After finding out our target audience we started to think of ideas for our movie. Most of our asked participants crossed action thriller as their most favourite and this one is fallowed by horror thriller. We than decided to go for a horror thriller rather than for a action thriller because in our eyes it looked easier to do a horror thriller.
After we decided that, we again looked at the movies and videos which inspired us and with the time we had a lot of different and good ideas coming up. The next step we than did is print out a storyboard and we started drawing our few first scene.
By starting drawing we started creating a story which makes sense and would be able for us to film. We linked together all the different scenes we hand in our mind and at the end the storyboard was a good job and a idea on which we are able to expend.
This is the first storyboard we draw:

Our idea
Our idea
We knew from the beginning that we wanted to do a horror thriller so we started to imagine what will need to be in it. Quickly everyone had ideas and we started to put them together as one big idea.
A lot of people like if the film doesn't straight start in the present so we wanted to have something that shows a bit the past and we than came up with idea to use pictures of our main actress in her growing stage. This picture will be shown by zooming in her eye and than moving out so it look like we go back into her memory. The main idea was than that the other actress is the bad person and made our main actress do something she doesn't' want to be. We than decided it would be good that the main actress first acts like she is when she is normal and when than the bad person comes in the movie she changes in her bad way but no one knows about it except those two. The main actress looks for help because she doesn't want to be like this but no one can help her because she just changes personality if the bad person is with her in a room.
This is our main idea we are fixed on and trying to make the best of it so people understand the change between nice and bad.

More than half of the people I asked watch thrillers and if they start with a flash-back they like it even more but if the actors act bad the thriller is not that good.
At the end they gave me a lot of different thriller they watched and I was surprised that they knew that were thriller movies because a lot of them didn't know the real definition of a thriller is.

The music video Mirrors
from Natalia kills inspired us as well because it’s the same concept like in
the film black swan. The video is filmed in a dark environment and there is
just a mirror in the room where she looks in and again her reflection in the
mirror does something else than she does.
I think scenes like
this are very mystery because you want to know who the other, same person is
and overall the concept of putting twice the dame person but doing other things
is creepy. I cannot think that a scene like this would not look good in a
thriller.

A music video which
influenced us is the song from pink which is called f**king Perfect. In the
video we can a see a scene where a girl it sitting in the bath and cut herself
because she is desperate with herself and it’s like a sign for help which no
one sees.
This video inspired
us because exactly of the scene which is described in the upper paragraph. It is
a common scene for thrillers and always a creepy and mystery scene because
there needs to be something after to know how it ends or go one. Also, like in
the video there is often a word associated with it and this word says a lot and
this makes it even more interesting.

When we were looking
for videos which could also inspire us we found a sound track from the movie
The Woman in black. There must be
different methods to create tension a fear throughout the movie. When you
listen to this music you create yourself picture in the head and you want to
know what will happen.
We know we can’t just
copy this music and put it in our own movie but we wanted to take the ideas of
it. We wanted to have this creepy, dark elements also in our and we tried our
best to create the same tension

In the
movie Mirrors, there was one thing which we particularly noticed. This was the
picture where you can see the 20th Century Fox symbol but isn’t like in all the
other movies. In this movie they turned all the letters so you need to read it
from right to left.
I liked
this idea to do it different, this doesn’t make it boring. Another point is that
people pay attention to it immediately and maybe than they pay more attention
to the rest because they think there might again be something like this.

Also the
thriller Skyfall has some really productive ideas we wanted to have in our one
thriller. Especially the scene where they film into the eye of the main actor and
when they reached the deepest point they fade into in another image.
This has a
fluent transition which we had to include in our thriller because I think it is
a nice effect to go from one scene to another.
