15
- The symbol 15 means that no-one under 15 is allowed to see, to buy, to rent those movies because this work is no suitable for children under 15.
- The themes which you will see in those movies must be appropriated to the age of 15 because the work for these movies is stronger than the one for 12 or 12A movies. Some differences are for example:
- strong violence
- frequent strong language (eg 'f***')
- portrayals of sexual activity
- strong verbal references to sex
- sexual nudity
- brief scenes of sexual violence or verbal references to sexual violence
- discriminatory language or behaviour
- drug taking
- The 15 films have no upper limit on strong language and so these terms will be used although continued or aggressive use will not normally be passed 15. However you won’t find endorse discriminatory language or behaviour.
- As long as there is no stronger graphic detail, sexual activities can be portrayed. There can be strong references to sex and sexual behaviour, but especially strong or crude references are unlikely to be acceptable unless justified by context.
- The violence in these films may be strong but the strongest gory images are unlikely to be acceptable. Strong sadistic or sexualised violence is also unlikely to be acceptable.
- Dangerous behaviour such as hanging, suicide and self-harming will not be shown on detail because it could be copied by the viewers.
